Welcome to Swanson Road

Swanson Road in Manteca, California, was named after our Dad. He and our Mom bought 10 acres, built a house, fenced the pasture, and raised five children there. John, Verna, and Beverly were given the chore of milking the cow morning and evening (not something we liked!!) so we had fresh milk. But to compensate for doing that, there were the horses. 

Dad had them in the pasture and we would go out and catch one, climb on (if we could), and ride it bareback using a rope to make a hackamore bridle. Back at the house we would saddle up and ride around the neighborhood. 

Our vacations were the envy of most of our classmates-camping high in the mountains below Sonora Pass, pack trips into the back country and more. As the family grew and Dad and Mom got older, we all would take our motorhomes up to "horse camp" and spend a week or so together with good times that live in our memories.
